Face lift

I've had a face lift! Thought my blog needed a bit more zing. The chairs featured in the heading and the wallpaper background are all from Anthropology. They have so many amazing things it makes me want to cry that we don't have a store in New Zealand. Check out some of the other AMAZING unique furniture they have on sale:

Ta-da!

So I finished the hallway on the weekend and it is looking great. All I need now is a jazzy rug and a new light fixture for the ceiling. The framed wallpaper worked very well - we just bought framing from Bunnings, painted it white and then cut it to size. It was inexpensive and relatively easy to do.

Framed wallpaper

I saw a feature on Apartment Therapy awhile ago about framing wallpaper isntead of covering a whole wall. I went out an dbought some framing from Bunnings on Saturday and I am going to try this in the hallway with my designer's guild wallpaper (which has arrived and sooo beautiful).   Let's hope I can make it look as lovely as in the pictures.

Wallpaper

Despite my lack of blog posts lately, I have actually been quite busy decorating my house.  I have ordered this amazing statement wallpaper by Designers Guild for the entrance way (I wanted to make a statement and this should do it!). I have also ordered (and pick up this weekend!) this vey cool box mirror to go in the same area. I painted the lounge a deep grey (was going to be a feature wall and I liked it so much I kept going!) pics of the lounge and hallway will follow once I'm finished.

Wallpockets

Onceit had these great Wallpockets for sale yesterday. I had never heard of them before, but they are a lovely and bright storage solution (not sure how practical they are but cute nevertheless!). Would be great for an office.

Lacoste

While in Lacoste in June, I went to the old castle which is now owned by Pierre Cardin.  There are a few rooms open to the public and they are filled with lovely and unique antiques.  Apparently Pierre Cardin renovated the castle so he could make it his home. It was such a pleasure to take a look around - and the views, wow! No wonder he decided to live there.

Louise Body wallpaper

I came across an article on Louise Body wallpaper while flicking from Easy Living magazine on the weekend. I love this wallpaper that looks like tiles, it is so cleverly designed. I wish I had somewhere I could put it in my house. There are so many interesting and unique designs on her website (http://www.louisebody.com/) and they ship to New Zealand!

Cross-Back Chair

When this picture popped up in my inbox this morning, my first reaction was to have gut-wrenching pangs for summertime. Then I thought - what a cool chair! It is called the Cross Back Dining Chair and can be found on Terrain.
Pictures borrowed from Terrain website/email newsletter.

Les Carmes

In-keeping with my previous post, while in France we stayed in a lovely French villa in the countryside called Les Carmes. This place epitomises the rustic french dream and is decorated accordingly - with replica antiques, authentic woven carpets, stone, wrought iron, buttermilk coloured walls, sheer drapes and floral cushions.  Highly recommended to all travelling through the Luberon region.

Canvas strap shelf

While in Provence, I came across this little shop in the Luberon which sold
canvas straps which you fasten to the wall, add a plank of wood and voila you
have a shelf! I thought they were a simple, yet very practical idea so I bought
two sets for the kitchen. My husband out them up on the weekend and they look
great!
