Finished kitchen

Our kitchen was finished on the weekend, and my husband and I are feeling pretty pleased with our efforts. With his handy-man skills and my design skills we have managed to create a space which is light-filled and contemporary.

Rustic Laundry

I am very pleased to finally share these photos of my most recent design project, my laundry.

Chalkboard walls

I have been so busy renovating the house and finally next week our new kitchen is going in - so excited.  I will also have pictures of our finished laundry soon which I can't wait to share.  I am playing with the idea of having a chalk board wall in our new kitchen because we have an empty wall which offers the perfect opportunity to do something fun and creative.  I've been searching online for inspiration and seen some great examples...

Urban Outfitters home look book

I'm a fan of Urban Outfitters fun and kooky homewares and now they have published a home look book which captures their kitsch aesthetic nicely. I love the duvet in the last picture.

The painters have finished!

The orange trim has officially gone from our house.  There were dramas galore, but we got there - big sigh of relief - and doesn't it look so better?

I have my eye on this statement red outdoor chair for by the font door. It is for sale on cintesi.co.nz. Might have to sell something on trade me so I can get it...

Package from Anthropology

Part of my Anthropology order arrived yesterday, not my wallpaper, but some colourful cups I ordered and a little fruit dish - perfect for blueberries or strawberries.

How exciting, the orange trim on our house will soon be gone. Can't wait. I chose the colours Silver Chalice for the weatherboard and Alabaster for the trim...

Birthday celebrations

Yesterday was my birthday and I cooked a three course dinner for family. I had loads of fun dressing the table beforehand. I went with a white whimsical theme and used white Martha Stewart pom poms, baby's breath, jam jars, white candles on a cake dish and a white table cloth. For dinner we had an Asian salad for our entree, chilli garlic prawns with linguine for main and vanilla poached pears with marscapone for dessert - yum!
