Hello! Sorry guys I've been MIA lately - life has been busy and frankly I haven't been very inspired. Luckily I seem to be getting on top of things again. So right now I'm working on a big post about my new house and all the little projects I'm about to start so watch this space. For now, I'm looking at getting squabs made for the big U-shape built-ins we have in the dining room. Here are some of the pictures I've come across for inspiration.

New Home
So a few days ago we moved into our new home! I've been unpacking since and it is never ending. Now I just need to decorate all 190sqm of this beauty! So far I am focusing my attention on the front room because we are going to run a self-contained boutique room holiday let. I'm hoping it will be available to stay in within the next month or so, I'll keep you posted!

Palm Beach home
My husband just doesn't get it when I rave about cane and wicker furniture, I'm working on convincing him. I think he must be coming around because he let me buy a cane set off Trade Me today - wait until you see what I do with it!
This house in Palm Beach uses cane furniture accents beautifully and the result is a beachy down-to-earth vibe.

Have you noticed that tassels are appearing everywhere? Not just in interior design but tassel necklaces are in fashion too. Here are some pictures of how tassels are being incorporated into the home.

So Vintage
Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Korreen & Mehdi from So Vintage out at their Te Awanga showroom. Korreen and Mehdi visit France a couple of times of year and hand pick authentic vintage and industrial furniture to sell in their store. I found it very difficult to leave - I wanted everything! They are such a lovely couple and have a great eye for selecting very cool and unique pieces. I'm just sad I only left with one item, but no doubt I'll be back!
Well worth checking out their website here.

5 Things Pleasing - Timber panels
So we may have found a home here in Napier and now we are just working through making it ours - very exciting! It is a period property, built in 1926 and has lovely character features. One of the features is timber paneling, which poses the question: to paint or not to paint? Some people believe that painting beautiful polished timber walls is a crime. On one hand I agree but timber polished walls are very formal and can look old fashioned. I like the softness and relaxed charm of painted timber. I would love to hear your opinion on which you prefer - see some examples below.

Napier
Hello! So we did it - my husband and I gave up our home in Wellington and made the move to the Hawkes Bay. (Don't worry I'm still offering design services nationwide!)
Now that most of the boxes are unpacked and I'm not running around like a headless chicken, I can keep you posted about what I'm up to. Right now we are renting this little lady while we hunt for the perfect villa to buy and renovate. So far no luck but as soon as we find 'the one' I'll let you know!
